New chicken and Leek pie recipe NBR

Family Leek Pie








Ingredients








  • • 1 kg chicken breasts, cubed
  • • Robertsons Salt and Pepper
  • • 2 large leeks, washed and sliced
  • • 1/2 cup (125 ml)Robertsons fresh parsley
  • • 1 cup (250 ml) cream
  • • 1 sachet KNORR Creamy Garlic Packet Sauce
  • • 120 g Stork Margarine
  • • 6 rashers bacon, chopped
  • • 2/3 cup (160 ml) milk
  • • 1 roll puff pastry



Instructions





  1. Toss chicken in KNORR Creamy Garlic Packet Sauce contents and season with Robertsons salt and pepper

  2. In a frying pan melt 40g margarine, sauté leeks and bacon for 10 minutes until well softened

  3. Remove from pan

  4. Melt remaining margarine and fry chicken pieces until golden brown

  5. Add leek mixture to pan, add parsley
  6. Pour in the milk and cream

  7. Simmer for about 5 minutes

  8. Place the mixture into an ovenproof dish and cover with pastry

  9. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 200°C for 35-40 minutes until golden brown
Thought this looked quite nice and it looks like it will be a bit quicker to make that Nikki's original chicken and Leek Pie in the recipe corner.
