Temperature
I *sort* of know the answer, but...I would just like to be 100% sure...
What should the correct temp be of our LO's?
And...
What is the temp when you should start worrying?
My LG is teething at the moment and a couple of weeks back she had a fever - took the reading *under her arm pit* and it read 38.0'C - I gave her some Panado and she slept, after waking up, the fever broke and she was fine...but I'm still not 100% sure when to REALLY start worrying - please help?
Thank You

Thank You Logan's Mommy
I saw that everyone said that the Braun Ear Thermo is good, and it gives a accurate reading - think I must also invest in one, 'cause the *under the arm pit* is not always very accurate...
P.S. What a beautiful family :-)

Re: Temperature
My Little Boy suffers from febral convulsions, he has a convulsion if his temp his 38 and higher. His normal temp is 34 - 35 and when he hits 36 i know he is getting sick. I have to constantly watch him and keep his temp below 37.5 to avoid another convulsion.

Re: Temperature
My kids is also quite "cold" kids.
Their normal temps are about 36.3
When they hit 37.3, I know somethings up.
When they reach 37.5, they have a fever (even though most doctors won't call it a fever yet), and from 38 they're ill.
From 39 I start to worry and get to the doc asap.
At 40 degrees I panick. It happened twice so far with my oldest. Faryngitis and pneumonia was the causes.

Re: Temperature
hi Angel
I think the most important thing to do is to take your little girl's temp when she is 100% fine - as you can see, each child varies - and what might be a fever at 37 for one child, could quite well be a normal body temp for another child. So it's hard to compare against other little ones... so start off with determining what your LOs normal, every day temp is :)
You know your child, if she is just not herself, then I would take the necessary precautions - if a mild temp, try break it with a dose of calpol/panado and if this doesn't work - then take her to the doc...
Hope this helps :)

Re: Temperature
Hi There 2TA
Thank you for the great advice - I took her temp just now - and her 'normal' temp is, 37.06 'C - so 38'C was NOT too high then...
I never even thought of taking her temp while she is NOT sick - THANX

Re: Temperature
I agree with 2TA. Take LO's temp when she's fine, so you know what her normal temp is.
M's normal temp is 36 so anything over 38 is worrying to me. If she reaches 30, it's straight to the doctor.
I am glad her fever broke and she's fine now...
Such a cutie!
